Click your question to view the answer...Q: We want to make disciples on a large scale. Can Next Generation Mentoring be scaled? A: Yes, but it’s smarter to start small and grow organically. We suggest a minimum of 3 mentors and 24 mentorees to launch the program. On the high side, we’d suggest no more than 5 mentors and 40 mentorees for the first season. Experience is proving that these size programs are manageable by a lay person without a lot of staff involvement AND without that person being worked to death and having to quit their day job. Q: I’m not sure our people will sign up for monthly “must attend” sessions. They’re pretty busy already.. A: They might need to back out of some other activities for a season. The high commitment/high accountability has been one of the distinguishing characteristics of this approach to mentoring. Everyone who’s been mentored agrees that the rigorous requirements for attendance and participation added value to the experience. Q: I understand there’s a covenant that a mentoree has to sign before they can be considered. A: That’s correct. Mentorees must enter into a covenant with their mentor. If the mentoree is married, we require that the spouse sign a statement of support, acknowledging that they’re supportive. Here is the covenant... |
